Why You're Letting Your Obstacles Get in the Way
Quit lying to yourself. The amount of time you spent to live up to your promises is laughable. You write down your goals on notebooks, paper, or online to remind yourself the lies you repeat. You try to attain your goals, but somehow you never make it happen. Do not let obstacles stop you.
You are king when it comes to excuses. You will think up clever reasons why you could not accomplish your goals. It gives you a free pass to avoid tacking actions. It is easy to say you cannot do something because you have a busy schedule, little money, or no resources.
All these obstacles prevent you from completing your goals because you give it permission to block your progress. By making excuses, you're giving the rights to slow down your work. It is unlikely that you will finish your objectives since you conditioned yourself into procrastination.
Do not blame yourself for this behavior as it is just a byproduct of human nature. We want the easy way out of life. We do not have patients for waiting for growth. We desire things now, not five years later. You, however, should not let yourself think that way. Put yourself to do what you can, with what you have right now.
Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next. ~ Ben Carson
You are afraid to take risks. It is difficult to start something because you have to sacrifice your time, money, or social life. Maybe you feel like taking such a risk is not worth it. It seems overwhelming, and you do not know how you are going to finish your goals. Maybe you will commence someday, but not today, because you do not feel like it.
I understand. You cannot do everything. However, if something so important to you like a goal then you should do a minimum progress to move forward. You cannot be stationary and expect a miracle to swoop you to the finish line. Do not let obstacles become your best friend. They distract you from getting your work done. You doing five percent a day will add up in the long run.
